Despite online criticism of her curves, Keely Shaye Smith remains the real-life Bond girl who has captured and kept the heart of one of Hollywood’s most acclaimed actors. Recently, Pierce Brosnan—her devoted partner of 30 years—shared a breathtaking photo of the couple, showcasing Smith’s timeless beauty and shifting the online conversation in her favor. Fans are now praising Smith, while Brosnan describes her as the one who “gave me wings to fly.”
As for Brosnan, who turn 71 on last May 16, he has recently expanded his talents beyond acting. The Irish star, known for over 40 years of captivating performances, has embraced painting. In 2023, he held his first solo exhibition, “So Many Dreams,” featuring more than 300 pieces of his artwork.

Initially, Brosnan had no plans to share his art publicly, but it was his wife, Keely Shaye Smith, who encouraged him to do so. “I never considered putting my paintings out into the world,” he explained. “But Smith documented everything and suggested we try for a show. She’s deeply involved in the process, celebrating the work with the same love and dedication she has for it.”

Smith, a documentary filmmaker and journalist, adds, “Pierce’s work is incredibly personal, which is why I believed it should be shared.” As her husband’s greatest supporter, she continues, “Many of these paintings were kept in storage. Wherever he goes, whether on a movie set or elsewhere, he always sets up a studio and paints. What you see at the exhibition is the culmination of that dedication.”
Timeless love
The supportive bond between Smith and the star of Mamma Mia! began 30 years ago in Mexico.
“I found a remarkable woman in Keely Shaye. Even if I searched a million times, I wouldn’t find anyone as wonderful,” Brosnan says of the former model, whom he married in 2001.
“We have a deep affection for each other,” the Mrs. Doubtfire star told Fox News in December 2023. “Experiencing life together, growing up and aging together, is a profoundly spiritual journey. Watching each other change—whether it’s our hair, our waistlines—what matters most is the love in our hearts.”

Brosnan’s remarks to Fox were in response to a hateful tweet featuring side-by-side photos of him and his wife taken decades apart. The viral post, which has garnered 59.8 million views, is captioned, “Your daily reminder to avoid marriage.”
One troll wrote, “This is what happens when your woman doesn’t respect you. She gains weight because she’s not afraid of losing you.” While some fans joined in with harsh comments, the majority defended the couple, celebrating their enduring love.

One commenter remarked, “Why should people avoid marriage? They’ve been happy and married for years. Are you suggesting they should avoid happiness?”
Another added, “They look very happy. I’d say they’re a great example of a successful marriage.”
In early March 2024, Brosnan posted on Instagram photos from his latest “So Many Dreams” exhibit in Palm Desert, California. One of the images shows Brosnan standing next to Smith, who has lost 50 pounds and is showcasing her new figure in a vibrant pink, floral dress.
Fans quickly flooded the comments with praise for 60-year-old Smith. One wrote, “You look radiant, Keely. It’s amazing to see your youthful glow. Well done!”
