Dad Makes Daughter Shave Hair as Punishment for Taking Wig from Girl with Cancer

As parents, we aim to guide our kids in understanding right from wrong, but sometimes we face challenges. Recently, a dad found out that his daughter was mistreating a fellow student with cancer at school. It went to the extent that she took off the girl’s wig. This angered the father, leading him to take action by punishing his daughter, causing controversy and various online reactions. However, he later took down the post following criticism about his approach to addressing his daughter’s bullying behavior

“I’m a divorced dad, and my 16-year-old daughter lives with me as her mom has moved on with a new family. Recently, she got into trouble at school for making fun of a fellow student who lost her hair due to cancer treatment, even pulling off her wig,” he shared in his post.

“Apparently, there’s some existing tension between them because my daughter is now dating the other girl’s ex-boyfriend. The situation escalated when the other girl made hurtful comments about my daughter’s relationship, and things ended up with the wig incident. They’ve been arguing in class since my daughter started dating the guy, typical teenage drama.”

Upon learning about the incident, the father gave his daughter two choices as a lesson. The first was to destroy her belongings, and the second was to get a bald haircut at a salon. She chose the latter and shaved her head for school.

“Many think I went too far. Her mother is furious, fearing it will make her a target for bullying, but I hoped it would teach her compassion,” he wrote.

While not everyone agreed with his actions, the father believed he did the right thing. Some criticized him, saying, “Your daughter is a bully because you are a bully,” and others labeled it as “child abuse,” suggesting more appropriate punishments like taking away electronics or grounding her.

However, there were also those who commended his parenting. “I fully support your decision. As her parent, you have every right to do this. It’s not abusive; it’s a lesson from real life. If she’s comfortable attacking someone for something beyond their control, she needs to experience how it feels,” expressed a supporter of the father.

“Seeing the impact of her actions on the victim will teach her a crucial lesson,” added another supporter.
