After the Oscars, it takes some time to catch up on all the big moments. We heard about Oppenheimer’s success, John Cena’s surprising walk on stage, and Al Pacino skipping some announcements. But there’s one story about Bradley Cooper that’s worth mentioning. It’s finally getting the attention it deserves online. If you’re a Cooper fan, you might have heard rumors about him dating Gigi Hadid. However, at the Oscars, he walked the red carpet with his 83-year-old mom, Gloria Campano, instead of Hadid.
Cooper, nominated for Best Actor in the acclaimed Maestro, wore a stylish black suit from Louis Vuitton. But it was his adorable mother who caught everyone’s attention at the Dolby Theater.
As soon as photos of the mother-son pair hit social media, people expressed their joy. “This is cute. He looks like his mom too,” one fan commented. Another said, “Anyone who brings their mom to an awards show is a winner in my book.” And a third person added, “He loves his mom so much. Amazing son. ❤️ him 🙏.”
However, as is often the case, there were also critics who tried to suggest that Cooper’s choice to bring his mother to the Oscars was anything but a sweet, commendable gesture. Shockingly, some even went so far as to label it “creepy.”
“Again?? Cmon, it’s getting kinda creepy,” one person commented on People’s Instagram post of Cooper and his mom. “Again? Getting kinda weird now,” another person chimed in. “Good grief, can’t he get another date?…Mama’s boy,” a third added.
Now, it should be noted that we see absolutely nothing wrong with a celebrity choosing to bring their mother to arguably the world’s most prestigious awards ceremony. If I were in Cooper’s shoes, my mother might be the first person I would ask to join me!
According to reports, Cooper and Campano share a special bond, as reflected in the fact that she recently moved into her son’s LA home. “I love having my mother living with me. I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Cooper shared. The actor reportedly often invites his mother to accompany him on some of his travels as well.
