One year after going into hospice care, Jimmy Carter’s family has some new news. His grandson shared it on CBS Sunday Morning, just three months after his wife Rosalyn passed away in November.
In the video aired on Sunday Morning, Jason Carter said, ‘After a year in hospice, we don’t expect much from his body daily, but we know his spirit remains strong as ever.’ The Carter Foundation also released a statement on the same day echoing these feelings.
“One year after entering hospice care, President Carter continues to be at home with his family. The Carter Family is grateful for the many expressions of love they have received and the continued respect for their privacy during this time. The family is pleased that his decision last year to enter hospice care has sparked so many family discussions across the country on an important subject.”
We continue to keep Jimmy and his family in our thoughts and prayers as they stand together during this especially challenging period.
