Model Faces Challenges in Finding Employment Due to 99% of Her Body Covered in Tattoos

An Australian model is grappling with job prospects, and she attributes this challenge to her extensive body ink, which covers 99% of her skin. The media spotlight on Queensland-born Amber Luke has predominantly revolved around her tattoos and various body modifications.

Amber has invested almost $250,000 in her transformation, earning her the nickname “Dragon Girl.” Regrettably, despite this significant investment in her appearance, she continues to encounter difficulty in securing employment.

Despite Australia’s overall progressive values, it appears that Amber faces hurdles in the job market.

The tattooed model, featured on the Robin, Terry & Kip radio show in Brisbane, candidly expressed her perspective, stating, “I won’t sugarcoat it, my extensive body art has limited my job opportunities, but that’s alright. To me, I have no desire to work for a company that’s narrow-minded and unable to see beyond my appearance. They won’t consider my work ethic, values, or what I can contribute.”

This heavily tattooed model faces difficulties in securing a stable job, and regrettably, some individuals have been quite straightforward in sharing their opinions.

“Beauty is subjective, and various cultures have their own standards, such as elongating necks, ears, or lips,” she remarked. “Ultimately, everyone is entitled to their viewpoint, and that’s acceptable. However, what troubles me is when people express their unsolicited opinions in public, approaching me to say, ‘You’re unattractive’ or ‘You’ve marred yourself.’ It’s disheartening to witness such strong opinions voiced without consequences.”

The adorned model further emphasized that her tattoos had not caused harm or injury to anyone. Despite numerous requests from her fans to cease her tattooing endeavors, she now feels a sense of accomplishment. She firmly believes that the investment in her physical alterations has been entirely worthwhile, as she has demonstrated remarkable resilience.

However, it’s important to note that the process was not without discomfort. Luke recalls that tears streamed down her face as she inked her eyeballs a vibrant blue. In remembrance of this experience, she even had a tattoo of it etched onto her chest. While she asserts that getting her eyeballs tattooed initially deterred her from further body modifications, this isn’t entirely accurate. Subsequently, she has undergone several alterations, including butt lifts and breast augmentation.

In 2020, Amber shared a photo of herself from before her transformation, and it naturally generated a significant buzz on Instagram.

The accompanying caption conveyed a powerful message: “We all have to begin somewhere. This is me at 18 years old. I was in the depths of depression, battling thoughts of suicide, and felt like a soulless shell. I was emotionally numb, and self-hatred consumed me for a substantial part of my life. It haunted me. Now, I’ve undergone a remarkable transformation and evolved into a person I’m genuinely proud to be. I’ve become a strong, self-assured woman who knows precisely what she wants and who she is.”

She also opened up about the perilous procedure she endured to have tattoos inked onto her eyeballs.
“I can hardly find the words to convey the sensation, but the closest comparison I can provide is that once the ink entered my eyeball, it felt like the tattoo artist took ten shards of glass and rubbed them into my eye. This process had to be repeated four times for each eye, and it was quite excruciating. Regrettably, my tattoo artist went too deep into my eyeball. When the eyeball procedure is done correctly, there should be no risk of blindness whatsoever. However, I lost my vision for three weeks. That was an incredibly challenging period.”

The tattooed woman takes pride in her dental modifications, which she believes complement her striking dragon-like eyes.

She enthused, “When I gaze at my smile now, I’m absolutely thrilled with how dazzling and adorned it is. I’m delighted with all the dental work I’ve had done. Initially, I had my fangs elongated and sharpened, but I found them to be too short a month later. I returned to have them extended and sharpened again, which came to a cost of $1,000 AUD since it required additional materials, and my private health coverage wasn’t as comprehensive as the first time.”

She continued, “I also have a permanent VVS white gold tooth, positioned adjacent to my fang. It’s a veneer with a flawless pave finish and amounted to $5,000 AUD for a single tooth.”
