According to Sky News, Lopez-Galvan was shot in the abdomen during the Chiefs’ parade. Despite surgery, she tragically passed away, leaving a void in her community. Lopez-Galvan, known for her vibrant presence and love for music, was a DJ on KKFI 90.1 FM, hosting the popular show ‘A Taste of Tejano’. Her sudden death prompted an outpouring of grief from the station, which emphasized her profound impact on the community. CNN reported that two individuals have been detained for questioning as authorities investigate the shooting. Police suspect the incident may have stemmed from a dispute among several individuals. The shooting resulted in 30 patients being transported to four hospitals, with 19 suffering from gunshot wounds. Children’s Mercy hospital received 11 children aged between six and 15, nine of whom had been shot.
